I took my final tonight and now I am done!! One more thing off of my to-do list. JOY!

Snow's coming tonight. Could be 4-8 inches. Seems a little early for snow. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come. J/k. I like snow. It's pretty and I can take pictures.

Gotta dig out the Christmas cards. Better get them sent if you want them to arrive before the big day.

Nathan's birthday is next Friday. He'll be 5. There's a cute pic of him in the image gallery. He likes to try to carry the drums. Not quite big enough yet.

if tomorrow's a snow day, I bet I'll get the cards done. Yeah!

Peace be with you! Chalet

Prayers needed E-mail

I need surgery again.

In January of this year I had brain surgery to correct Hydrocephalus (water on the brain). Most likely I've had this since birth. If they hadn't have caught it in time, there's a good chance I would not be here right now. Or I may have been comatose. Anyway, they punched several holes between my right and left ventricles in my brain. This way the fluid that was not draining properly from my right ventricle could pass into the left and exit correctly. I was feeling great despite a seizure about a week after the initial surgery. My symptoms were improving, I lost weight (40 lbs), my hair got curly. My symptoms started coming back a few months ago and now an MRI confirmed that I have to go back to have a shunt inserted.

On January 9th I will get another hole in my head. They will put a shunt from my brain (right ventricle) that will connect to either my heart or my stomach. This is like a plumbing device that will let the fluid drain either into my heart or stomach. I will have a plastic (I think) tube that will exit my brain and travel under the skin to either my heart or stomach.

When I had the initial review by the doctor's, they said they had never seen an MRI like mine. Usually people who have MRI's like mine was, were comatose. This is even coming from Johns Hopkins. I have become a weird freak for lack of a better word.

The corps will move on as scheduled. I may miss a rehearsal or two as I recover, but there are many wonderful people who are involved that will be available for help.

Please keep my in your thoughts and prayers. Peace be with you....Chalet

Membership day is done. Pictures are in the image gallery. The indoor line is going to be hot. There are still some spots available, especially pit. We may also need one more bass, tenor and snare respectfully. It's going to be hot!

We need members in all section of the hornline for the corps. Lots of people.

Congratulations to Matt and Anthony for both placing second at Districts. Matt will play snare. Good job guys!!

Bishop McDevitt football team: You rock and will be champions in my book. GREAT SEASON!

We woke up to more snow and ice. Gonna get more tomorrow too. Tis the season. Walmart is packed.

enjoy the pictures! Send kids! Come on out! It's going to be fun!

It's December! E-mail

Well, well December is here! We have our Christmas lights up and yes I finally got my deer! We've had two batches of snow so far. We had a white Thanksgiving and it snowed last night on my way home from class. Granted each were just a dusting. It feels like winter finally. I'm a little weird, I like winter.

My classes are all but over for the semester (YES!). I have a final next Thurs in Soc and I have to attend at least part of the final for Rec. Yes, I'm a rec major and yes we do play games....lots of games. Joke for Judy! I've scheduled my classes for next semester. Joy! Rec 101 (intro to Rec and Leisure) and Grantwriting. Thought that class might only be a little bit important (intended sarcasm). Watch out! After I get that class in my system, no telling what will happen!

McDevitt's team is in the semi-finals for state football. If they win tomorrow, they get to go to state championships. Woo Hoo!

Tomorrow is Membership Day. There are a lot of things going on tomorrow in the area. If you are reading this and wanted to come but can't because of either SAT's or District Band auditions, etc., please be sure to come to the Dec 17th rehearsal. The lines will not be set until then. Color guard will not be attending rehearsals until after indoor season (1st weekend in May). We would like to have a marching indoor percussion line, so we need people! Bring a friend!

Thanks for the phone donations! We've made $28 so far in cell phone collections! Keep them coming. You can donate your old cell phone to Renaissance at any time or you can do it online. There is a link on the site. If the cell phone cannot be reused, it is then reissued to victims of domestic abuse. This way they have a way to call 911 if their abuser tries to hurt them. Great cause! You can help two groups at once! We love community service as you will see!

Thanks, Chalet
